What we believe
Software should be something you keep.
The name is an old one. Marl is the clay and lime that farmers worked into their fields once, so the ground stayed good for a generation. We build things you settle into and hold on to, not services you rent until the terms change on you.
01
It runs on your machine
The apps are native and they work with the network off. The computation happens on your Mac at the speed of your Mac, using the chip you already paid for. You are never sitting through a spinner waiting for someone else’s server to get round to you.
02
The agent works for you
An agent can drive every part of the apps, and it does it in the open: in your project, in your undo history, from your presets. It speeds up the work you would have done. It doesn’t decide what good looks like.
03
Your work stays yours
Your footage, projects and anything you type stay on your disk. There is no background sync and no model trained on what you made. The apps send crash, performance and usage reports to our own server so we can find what breaks, and we would rather say that here than hide it behind a switch.
04
It should be quiet
Good software gets out of the way. No badge begging for attention, no upsell in the middle of a task, no notification you never asked for. It waits until you want it and then goes back to being invisible.
You should be able to shut the lid and know exactly where your work is: right here, with you.
