  1. A glass candy jar with one pink candy left at the bottom. Clink.
  2. Aoi and her daughter reach into the jar at the same moment and freeze.
  3. Kai looks up from his phone on the sofa: “…Uh oh.”
  4. Both stand in front of him, pointing at each other: “Kai, tell her!” “Dad, tell her!”
  5. Kai holds the candy, sweating: “Um…”
  6. He gives it to his daughter, who cheers “YAY!”, while Aoi’s cheeks puff up.
  7. Aoi turns away with her arms crossed: “Hmph. Fine.”
  8. Kai kisses Aoi’s forehead and she freezes, bright red: “You get this instead.”
  9. Aoi melts into a dazed smile with hearts around her: “…Okay, that’s better.”
  10. Their daughter looks at the candy, then at her mom, and holds it out to Kai: “Daddy, trade!”
